OLIVE & CAPER
Olive & Caper
Age: ~1 year olds
Breed: DSH Torties
Dogs: No dogs
Children: No young kids, respectful teens
Meet Olive and Caper! They were picked up as young kittens in California as feral kittens. They were found young enough that they were able to be placed in foster homes to adjust to indoor life. They spent many months in their foster homes, but never were able to find an adopter. Olive and Caper are ready to find their forever home here in the PNW!
These girls missed out on some early kitten socialization, meaning it takes them quite a while to warm up and trust humans. Caper has been able to be pet and is the more outgoing one. Caper is very curious and brave when it comes to her surroundings, but quick movements and loud noises still make her wary. Olive is the more reserved one and doesn't like direct contact with humans. She is a bit mischievous and loves to play with toys and her sister! These girls can be found snuggling, grooming each other, playing, wrestling, etc. They do some things as a team, like chasing their toy mouse and chattering at birds. Sometimes one will keep watch while the other one eats. They always seem to be aware of where the other one is.
Caper is quite bold and playful. She often runs and jumps on Olive, initiating a wrestling match. She trusts more than Olive does, so she more often likes to play with the feather wand. She has started to become chatty when she is most frisky, and will often let out a loud meow when she is playing. She also has the most beautiful purr that can be gravelly, rumbly, or very soft.
Olive likes to be somewhere she can keep an eye on everything and loves watching birds outside the window. Now, she plays with Caper several times a day, grooms, explores and takes cat naps. Sometimes she plays and she is getting less skittish when humans are nearby.
Both girls will take a while to adjust to new surroundings, but once they are they love to play and explore. They would do best in a calm environment that is predictable. Dogs or children would be too noisy or fast-paced for these girls. It will take a while for them to trust, but once they do they are the sweetest cats to watch as they love each other deeply. Every one of their foster homes has fallen in love with them and their bond!
Caper is more outgoing and is handle-able. Olive, on the other hand, may be a cat that never enjoys physical attention from humans, but she is okay with that as long as she has her sister! These girls would love to be welcomed into a patient forever home where they can relax and spend their long lives.
